Trip to the Depot for Creative Reuse

Street Style-Rock Paper Scissors edition bussed on over to Temescal and visited the Depot for Creative Reuse. Each participant filled a bag with fabric notions and other inspirations to create fantastic garments from the found and obscure.

As always, We that the Depot for there support of our program.

February First Friday Sales

On Feb 5th 2010 our Fashion Program set up a table and rack to sell our wears. The most popular items were: jewelry by Patricia Sandoval, and Hadiya Anderson, hats Hector, Clothing by Liliana Herrera, and Alayah LeShay Johnson.

We'll be back next Friday March 5th in the same spot (on 23rd and Telegraph). We'll also be having a live fashion demo!

Duct Tape or BUST

In our Dream Seams addition, Cara and Tanya tape up Jessica to create low-budget busts for us to use in the program. When stuffed with newspaper and covered in a thin batting, they are quite effective. In the stores Busts can cost up to $600. We're resourceful.

"Reading is Always in Fashion" Oakland Public Library Photo Shoot

Thanks to Photographer team Stuart Dixon and Heather Duperroir for their hard work on our Photo Shoot at the Oakland Public Library titled Reading is Always in Fashion.
